How to Withdraw the Pag-IBIG MP2 Annual Dividend
I opened an MP2 account with annual dividend payout in 2021. Dividends are credited yearly, usually in March or April or within 1-2 months after the announcement of the dividend rate.
The annual
payout dividends, if just left in one’s account, WILL NOT earn future
dividends. This feature is unlike the
dividends in the MP2 variant with annual compounding.
These annual payout dividends can be withdrawn and then reinvested back as MP2 savings.
I withdrew the 2021 and 2022 dividends in June last year. This month, I withdrew the 2023 dividends. I received the dividends via check.
Based on my
experience, here is a guide on how to claim your Pag-IBIG MP2 annual payout
dividends:
- Visit a Pag-IBIG branch. Inform the person at the reception counter that you want to apply for the release of your MP2 annual dividends. You will be given a form and a queue number.
- Fill out the application form. Write your MP2 account number and your Pag-IBIG membership ID number (regular Pag-IBIG number).
- Prepare the following requirements:
each photocopy.
2. Proof of MP2 payment. I was asked to provide proof of the very first payment I
made. Because I
paid online in 2021, I provided a printout of the Pag-IBIG Online
Payment Confirmation email
and the Paymaya confirmation.
Last year, I was not aware that this was needed (I do not know if other branches
also require this). Fortunately, there was a kiosk with a computer, printer, and
photocopier beside
the Pag-IBIG office. There are usually establishments like this
near government
offices – very convenient just in case you are asked to provide
unexpected
requirements.
3. If
you prefer to receive the dividends in your bank account instead of by check,
provide your personal bank account details (account
number, bank branch and
address) and a document reflecting your bank account
number (e.g., photocopy
of ATM card).
I asked last year if it was possible to have
the annual dividend deposited in my
Pag-IBIG Loyalty Card Plus account (Asia
United Bank Hello Pag-IBIG prepaid
banking/e-wallet account). I was told that
it was not possible at that time.
- When it is your turn at the provident claims counter, submit the application form and the other requirements. If the requirements are complete, you will be given an acknowledgment receipt.
The tentative release date written in the acknowledgment
receipt I received this month was 20 working days. However, the dividend check was released much
earlier than that.
Last year, I submitted the application form and
requirements on a Thursday. Five working
days later, I received a text message from Pag-IBIG that the check was ready to
be claimed. The date on the check was 2
working days after the submission of requirements.
This year, I submitted the requirements on a Thursday.
After 8 working days, I received the
text message from Pag-IBIG to pick up the check. The LANDBANK check was dated 6 working days after
the submission of requirements. It
probably took longer to release the check this year because Pag-IBIG had to
update my account to reflect the 2023 dividend.
